He who Fears the Wolf by Karin Fossum

This book is translated from Norwegian. It's a mystery but definitely a notch up from the average whodunnit. It is beautifully written with great character development and I never saw the ending coming. I don't want to give the plot away but I'll just say there's a murder, a bank robbery, an insane asylum and a boy from a delinquent home.

You showed great restraint in not giving away the plot of this excellent novel. I saw the end coming, but only the sense that I guessed who had done it (and I won't tell you the clue that led to my guess!).

In fact, even if I'd guessed earlier than I did, the novel would have lost nothing because the psychological atmosphere and the characters were so interesting. I'm in the mood to tell the world about the book, so drop in and read the comments I've left on my blog at http://detectivesbeyondborders.blogspot.com/search/label/Karin%20Fossum Thanks!
